Netflix will launch its most expensive film in 2023 "Rebel Moon," directed by Zack Snyder, just in time for the Christmas season.

The ambitious project, with a an estimated cost of $166 million, as stated in Vanity Fair, is a massive sci-fi adventure that has been divided into 2 parts.

The story centers around peaceful community that is situated on the outskirts of a moon that is far away that is torn apart by an oppressive regime.

The first one, "Rebel Moon: Part One - A Child of Fire," will be released on the 22nd of December.

It promises to be a mixture of high-stakes drama as well as intricate practical effects, such as the fully-constructed Scandinavian-style town located in Santa Clarita, complete with houses, shops and even a human-made river that showcases Snyder's dedication to authentically designed sets.

The production is brimming with practical effects, a decision that Snyder believes will enhance the story by anchoring the fantasies within the reality.

Snyder has been developing the concept for three decades and has set out to create a viscerally rich and detailed world. Despite initial criticisms people on social media platforms X have been supportive of the film, applauding its narrative and visuals.

Snyder himself expressed his excitement over the reception of the film in announcing "Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver" is set to release the 19th of April which means that fans don't have to wait long for the final chapter of the story.
